The global slavery index provides a map, country by country, of the estimated prevalence of modern slavery, together with information about the steps each government has taken to respond to this issue. The prevalence rates for modern day slavery were calculated using individual and country-level risk factors, based on interviews with survivors of modern slavery and assessments of national-level Ò€¦ Slavery continues in countries around the world today.

The index answers three key questions for 160 countries: How many people are living in modern slavery, what makes people vulnerable, and what are governments doing to address it?
